This issue remains somewhat of a mystery to me.
MADD and the San Diego Padres appear to have teamed up in an alcohol awareness program, aimed at using designated drivers. The card includes a tab that is redeemable for a free soft drink, if the holder is a designated driver with appropriate hand stamp. Once the coupon is redeemed for the free drink, the holder is even left with a neat collectible souvenir.
I assume these were issued at the baseball stadium, given the details about the free drink on the tab. We can also see that this coupon is good for the 1999 season, so this must be a 1999 issue. From there, I know little more. I have a couple other players (all all-time/retired players) in the same format (same year) and have some other singles from later year issues (all current Padre players), but to date I have never seen any of these cards listed in one of the two "card bibles".
So, I'll give it a go and call this...

The card with tab is about the size of one of those Fleer Extra bases cards or an old Topps basketball card from the early 70s. Without the tab, it's practically the same size as a standard card.
I don't understand how more of these have not turned up, with or without tabs. I have seen only a couple offered on ebay in 10+ years??? Could they be THAT hard to find? Someone else out there has one, right?
